FAQ

The Answers You Need

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I WAX?

Most waxing should be done every 3-4+ weeks.

Face should be waxed every 2-3 weeks.

Brazilian, Manzilian and Bikini waxes should be done every 3-4 weeks.

It is important not to stop waxing after your first appointment, because it usually takes about 3-4 consistent appointments to get your hairs on a schedule and really experience the true benefits of waxing.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY APPOINTMENT?

The best way to prepare for your wax appointment is to exfoliate your skin by dry-brushing or using a body scrub 48 hours before your appointment (don’t do it day of!). By exfoliating the area you’re getting waxed, you’ll remove any dead skin and actually help reduce discomfort. Keep the area to be waxed moisturized because this helps to soften the hairs and make it easier to slide out. You should also avoid intense sun exposure, like tanning beds, 48 hours before and after.

DOES WAXING HURT?

Of course getting hair removed will hurt, but it isn’t painful. We use a product called Nufree and it’s specifically engineered to help reduce pain, swelling and irritation. Nufree isn’t a wax and doesn’t stick to the skin, you won’t experience the pain, discomfort, and irritation from traditional wax based processes. If you have sensitive skin, this is the perfect product for you! The use of Nufree and our technique makes this the least painful experience as possible. If you have a low pain tolerance, we recommend you take Advil or Ibuprofen 20-30 minutes before your appointment.

HOW LONG DOES MY HAIR HAVE TO BE?

We recommend that you have at least a ¼” of hair for a wax (about 3 weeks from your last shave/wax) or hair should be about the size of rice. It’s important that the hair is long enough, and if it’s not we won’t be able to remove all the hairs.

WHAT KIND OF WAX DO YOU USE?

At BARE. we don’t use wax! We use a product called Nufree which is a soy based vegan resin that can be used on the entire body and it’s made here in the USA by women. Nufree isn’t a wax and isn’t made from sugars or chemicals and is the only soy based hair removal system in the world.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A BRAZILIAN AND BIKINI WAX?

A Brazilian means you are Baring it ALL! It removes all the hairs from the top, middle, backside, bikini line and belly. A bikini means you just want the hairs removed at the bikini line and doesn’t include the backside.

WHAT TYPE OF AFTER-CARE SHOULD I USE?

48 hours after your wax it is important to use a dry brush, sea salt body scrub, sugar scrub or post-waxing serum 2-3 times a week. Make sure you moisturize daily and stay hydrated! EXFOLIATE, MOISTURIZE AND HYDRATE!!! You must stay consistent in order to stop ingrowns and help the hairs grow in smooth.

I STARTED MY MENSTRUAL, SHOULD I RESCHEDULE MY APPOINTMENT?

Not at all! Just remember to put a fresh tampon in before the start of your appointment. Please remember that the area being waxed will be more sensitive than any other time, you can always take an Advil or Ibuprofen 20-30 minutes before your appointment to help with sensitivity.

WHAT IS A BARE. SKIN TREATMENT?

A BARE Skin Treatment aka “Vajacial” is similar to a facial, but it’s performed on the mon pubis and bikini line. It includes:

  • Cleanse

  • Hot towel

  • Steam

  • Mild enzyme exfoliant

  • Extractions of ingrown hairs

  • LED Light Therapy

  • High Frequency

  • Custom hydro jelly mask

  • Skin brightening serum or Spot treat.

It treats:

  • Ingrown hairs

  • Remove dead skin cells

  • Smooths bumps around the bikini line

  • Get rid of bacteria

  • Prevents acne

  • Reduces hyperpigmentation

  • Reduce redness and inflammation post wax.

Each treatment is tailored  to help each person specific needs. All products used are all natural, vegan, cruelty free and designed to be used on the most sensitive area. It’s safe for sensitive skin. This service is all inclusive as well.

IS A BARE SKIN TREATMENT SAFE AND SUITABLE FOR SENSITIVE SKIN?

Yes. Each product used is tailored to each individual, including those who are extremely sensitive. There is nothing invasive that occurs during your service and all products are safe to use in our most delicate area. It doesn’t have any impact on your ph balance.

CAN I RECEIVE A BARE. SKIN TREATMENT DIRECTLY AFTER WAXING?

The answer is YES. A BARE. Skin Treatment can only be preformed of a hair free area because we need to be able to see the skin. There are two different types of BARE. Skin Treatment:

  •  Mini BARE. Skin Treatment, which is designed to be performed directly after a wax service. This service doesn’t include any exfoliates, mild enzymes, AHAs, BHAs or light chemical peel’s because waxing is already a form of exfoliation. We don’t want to over exfoliate the skin and cause more damage. It’s designed to soothe the skin, reduce redness and inflammation immediately after a wax, remove any ingrown hairs, and help reduce any hyperpigmentation.

  • Deluxe BARE. Skin Treatment, which is designed to be performed 7-10 days after a wax service. This service can only be done 7-10 days after a wax because the skin has recovered and this amount of time allows the hair growth to form just beneath the skin, so any products used to target ingrown hairs can be more effective.

CAN I RECEIVE A BARE. SKIN TREATMENT WHILE ON MY MENSTRUAL CYCLE?

No.

WHAT SHOULD I AVOID AFTER MY SERVICE?

  • No touching the skin for 24 hours

  • No excessive sweating(partying, exercising, etc.) for 24 hours

  • No soaking in the tub, saunas, hot tubs, hot showers or pools for 24 hours

  • No tanning beds for 24 hours

  • No harsh chemicals for 72 hours

  • No sexual activities for 24 hours

  • No exfoliation products for 72 hours

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I RECEIVE A BARE. SKIN TREATMENT?

Just like a facial keeps the skin on your face clear and healthy, a BARE. Skin Treatment works to keep the skin on your vulva healthy and hydrated. Depending on the issues we are correcting a BARE. Skin Treatment should be done once a month or every 4-6 weeks, just like your wax schedule to achieve optimal results.
